I have never shipped a computer before, but I was thinking of using DHL to ship my computer from Malaysia to Sydney, Australia. My package was delivered to its local delivery location yesterday morning but got placed on a hold ever since. I called their customer service and kept getting mixed answers but mostly to check their website🙄 I was told it was on the delivery truck but the courier doesn’t have a code to put in to mark it as “out for delivery” but then I was told it would deliver today soon as a driver had it, but then told it was on hold for duty charges despite paying them 2 days ago. DHL asked me to submit invoices and other documents, and even though I contacted them actively and responded quickly every time, I still ended up paying extra storage fees and customs duties. tldr - had numerous problems with thrift books to the point they were already on thin ice, took the risk to order through a different platform (abe books) rather than directly through them hoping it would turn out better. Was not only sent the wrong book but a book that was absolutely destroyed.
