I have spoken with customer service twice and emailed duty tax disputes. It feels like we are going around in circles. I received a bill for a duty tax for an item from turkey. This item tracks as delivered and is tied to my name and address. The tracking picture shows a package at a house that is not mine. I have no idea what this item is and I never ordered anything like what is described on the invoice “3D Desk Lamb.” The first Fed Ex customer service call told me send the bills back to fed ex unpaid with a note saying I did not receive the item. I had a late payment since I didn’t know making an account forces me to pay in advanced, so I paid at around 3 pm EST and it’s been over 12 hours and the app still says I’m missing payments. My package is still considered “delivery exception.” Anyone knows if it will update soon or if my package can arrive by tomorrow (today since it’s past 12). I just sold an item and I had the weight as 5lbs as when I weighed it that was proper. MercarI claims there was a shipping adjustment to 20lbs and a $60 charge which is absurd! If there’s any potential my scale was off and it was slightly over, there is absolutely no way it was even remotely close to 20lbs. The box was large (but very thin). I asked at fedex if the box was okay for the label or if I should pack it in a plastic film packaging which I had brought in with me and the lady told me it was fine. When I try calling Mercari, they keep saying the wait time is over 10 minutes and hangs up on me. Has anyone had this issue happen to you? Did you find resolution?

I know that last year the US got rid of the de minimis for customs clearance, but the reasons given for holding up our packages are farcical at best. I received a text from the official FedEx number (and the same number that always texts me when packages arrive) as well as an email letting me know I had a duties & taxes fee I had to pay. id like to clear up some things regarding the acceptance boxes. some people use UPS< uSPS, or FedEx tracking to let them know ahead of time if anything is coming to their house. That way, they can now a bit early if they got into a school. However, this is NOT reliable. This year, I was stressing like crazy cs I didn’t receive a notification abt a package. On m10, i got a package from Exeter, despite FedEx not saying anything. JUST WAIT TILL m10, dont let the packages let your hopes drop (did for me)
