I keep seeing people suggesting to others experiencing issues with USPS deliveries that they submit a missing mail claim. Disregarding the fact that a missing mail claim can't be submitted until LONG(absurdly long) after a delivery is overdue, WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISH. People keep suggesting it, but **what does it accomplish, how does it work(on USPS' end, internally), and what is its' purpose, from a consumer perspective? How does it potentially solve the issues that consumers seem to be facing en masse?**.

Had a confirmed order placed for the Black Friday drop of the Batman compression, 11/25/25. I also ordered a Superman compression and received it weeks ago. Sold a pair of rather expensive pants on a second hand clothes website, I wanted to check tracking make sure everything went smooth only to realize after USPS took my item (I dropped it off at the front desk with an associate) it either hasn’t moved at all or moved to the next town over, which is a very small town only 20 minutes over and stayed there. The tracker in-app says it moved to the next town while the usps website says it’s stayed here in my town. What could have happened?

Title says it. I have already spoken to USPS and they've opened a case. This is the larger story: Ordered an item from the UK from a reputable business. It is sent first via Royal Mail to the US, where USPS takes over (I have full tracking history). Navigates its way from the distribution centers in NYC down to Maryland, then eventually out to delivery on a Saturday. Up to that point I had no knowledge that someone would be required to be at home to accept the package. Hey everyone, apologies if this is a “you won’t know ‘til you open it” situation, but I’m hoping someone has some insight based on similar experiences. I’m a self-managing landlord out of state, and my tenant in Arizona just texted me a photo of a USPS notice for a certified letter requiring a signature. It’s from the “Department of Housing” . I can’t just hop on a plane to grab it, so I’m trying to figure out if this is urgent or what it might involve before coordinating with the tenant. Any ideas on common reasons the housing dept. would send something like this to a rental property?

So I made a purchase on ETSY coming from Nevada City, CA. I live in Pennsylvania. The same day the seller dropped off the package, the tracking said it was delivered at the same post office it was dropped off at. So weird.
